Corn Tortillas

Ingredients

  1. 2 cups AdSey’s Nest corn dough
  2. 1/2 teaspoon salt
  3. Warm water (as needed)

Preparation

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the AdSey’s Nest corn dough and salt.
  2. Slowly add warm water, a little at a time, and knead until the dough comes together and is smooth and pliable.
  3. Divide the dough into golf ball-sized portions.
  4. Preheat a skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  5. Place a ball of dough between two sheets of wax paper or plastic wrap and flatten it with a tortilla press or rolling pin until it’s about 1/8 inch thick.
  6. Carefully peel off the top sheet of wax paper or plastic wrap and transfer the tortilla to the hot skillet.
  7. Cook for about 1 minute on each side, or until lightly golden and cooked through.
  8. Repeat with the remaining dough balls, stacking the cooked tortillas on a plate and covering them with a clean kitchen towel to keep warm.
